Interim Management

Interim leadership. Responsibility for the task.

A key position becomes unexpectedly vacant. A business unit needs to change direction. A transaction or demanding project requires additional leadership capacity. In such situations, another recommendation is rarely enough. What is needed is someone who assesses the situation, makes decisions and takes responsibility for implementing them.

That is precisely what we provide: temporary leadership of your company or business unit, with a clear mandate, real authority and a measurable objective. You regain the capacity to act without creating a permanent position.

When interim management makes sense.

Typical situations:

  • Bridging a vacancy: Taking on leadership duties while a key position is unfilled or a permanent successor is being recruited.
  • Reorientation and performance improvement: Operational leadership in developing business models, improving portfolios and cost structures or reorganising business units.
  • Turnaround and restructuring: Taking management responsibility in turnaround situations and complex change processes.
  • Transactions and integration: Operational management of demanding transactions and the subsequent integration or reorganisation.
  • Technology and infrastructure: Leading complex digital, technology and infrastructure projects, including IT and data-centre infrastructure or operating sites.

The issue is not how an assignment is labelled, but whether additional temporary leadership can make a tangible contribution to solving it.

Experience that includes responsibility.

Favoso brings experience from founding businesses and holding operational leadership positions as CEO, COO and CFO. We know business decisions not only from an advisory perspective, but also from responsibility for their financial and organisational consequences.

This experience shapes our approach: we combine financial, technical and operational perspectives and question familiar assumptions when necessary. Even a convincing plan may fail because of limited resources, established structures or conflicting interests. We therefore examine not just an individual measure but its effects on the rest of the business.

A decision must be workable with the available people and resources, within the required timeframe and under real operating conditions. A temporary leadership role provides an independent view of existing structures. We combine that perspective with a thorough understanding of the company and involve the people who will support and sustain the changes.

A clear mandate. A reliable handover.

We begin by agreeing on the assignment: What is to be achieved? Which decisions are pending? What authority is required? How will success be measured? On that basis we define objectives, responsibilities, ways of working and the timeframe.

During the mandate, the task is to exercise leadership, advance decisions and implement measures. An orderly conclusion is equally important: results, outstanding tasks and responsibilities must be handed over so the company can continue independently.

Interim management is not an end in itself. It must suit the situation and make a demonstrable contribution to the solution.
